Espedito Chionna
Espedito Chionna (born 29 August 1969) is a former Italian professional footballer who played as a defender. He was born in Latiano, Italy, and began his career with Mesagne, where he stayed in the youth system until 1985 before moving into senior football.
Over his career, Chionna played for many Italian clubs, including Mesagne, Casarano, Catanzaro, Campobasso, Molfetta, Giulianova, Pescara, Palermo, Martina, L’Aquila, Todi, Montalbano, and Casarano again. In total, he made 419 senior appearances and scored 15 goals. He is best known for his time with Molfetta in Serie C2, Pescara in Serie B, and Palermo, where he helped the team win Serie C1 in the 2000–01 season. He finished his playing career at Casarano.
After retiring as a player, Chionna had brief coaching spells with Latiano (2010–2011) and Boys Mesagne (2011–2012) in Prima Categoria, the lower amateur division.
