Xi Canis Majoris

Xi Canis Majoris is the name for two stars in the Canis Major constellation: Xi1 Canis Majoris and Xi2 Canis Majoris. They are about 0.86 degrees apart in the sky. In Chinese astronomy, Xi1 Canis Majoris was part of the asterism called “Market for Soldiers” within the Well mansion, while Xi2 Canis Majoris was not part of that asterism.
