Barton McCallan
Barton McCallan (born 18 July 1936) is a former Ireland international rugby union player from Belfast, Northern Ireland.
He grew up in Belfast and went to Belfast Royal Academy, where he captained the school’s first team for two seasons and earned Ulster Schools honors. He attended Queen’s University Belfast and first played for Ulster as a student. In 1958 he moved to Ballymena to work for a tobacco company and joined Ballymena RFC.
McCallan played as a hooker for Ireland in two matches during the 1960 Five Nations Championship. He faced England at Twickenham and Scotland at Lansdowne Road, forming the front row with his Ballymena teammate Syd Millar.
