Andrew Michael Colman (born 8 January 1944 in Johannesburg, South Africa) is a British psychologist known for his research on decision making and game theory. He studied at Rhodes University, earning a BA in Psychology in 1965 and an MA in 1968, and he earned a PhD there in 1979 with the thesis Abstract and lifelike experimental games. Colman began his career in South Africa, teaching at the University of Cape Town and Rhodes University before moving to the University of Leicester in 1970, where he spent the rest of his career. He has been a Fellow of the British Psychological Society since 1984 and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy since 2016.
