Kamence is a tiny village in eastern Slovenia, in the Municipality of Brežice. It sits on the eastern slopes of the Gorjanci Mountains, near the border with Croatia. The village covers 0.62 square kilometers, lies at about 382 meters above sea level, and had 11 residents in 2020. Kamence is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola and is now in the Lower Sava Statistical Region. Its mid-19th-century rural architecture, including rectangular stone and wooden houses, barns, granaries, and hayracks, has remained largely intact, so the whole village is protected as a cultural heritage site by the Slovenian Ministry of Culture. The place is sometimes listed as Kamence (Kamenica in older sources). Coordinates: 45.8489°N, 15.5574°E.
