Krissy Moehl
Krissy Moehl (born October 27, 1977) is an American ultramarathon runner who specializes in trail running. She grew up in Bow, Washington, ran track in high school, and competed in the 800 meters at the University of Washington. She was married to distance runner Brandon Sybrowsky from 2003 to 2006 and now lives in Bellingham, Washington.
Career highlights:
- In 2005, Moehl became the youngest woman to complete the Grand Slam of Ultrarunning, which includes four of the sport’s toughest 100-mile races, and she won the Vermont 100 Mile Endurance Run that year.
- She set the women’s course record at the Hardrock Hundred in 2007 and holds the women’s fastest known time for the Tahoe Rim Trail (170 miles) at 47 hours 27 minutes.
- Moehl has won several major races, including Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (2003 and 2009), Wasatch Front 100 Mile Endurance Run (2004), Vermont 100 (2005), San Diego 100 (2011), Ultra-Trail Mt. Fuji (2013), Leona Divide 50 Mile (2006 and 2007), and Run the Rann 101K (2014).
- She published Running Your First Ultra in 2015.
- Since the mid-2000s, Moehl has been the race director for the Chuckanut 50k in Fairhaven, Washington.
