Lego Life of George
Lego Life of George
Overview
Lego Life of George was a short-lived LEGO theme that mixed real bricks with a mobile app. It ran from October 2011 to December 2013 and included two sets. It was the first LEGO line to combine physical bricks with digital play, encouraging quick 2D-building that could be scanned with an app and then used in a digital space, before inspiring more physical play.
Development
The project was created by EyeCue, an Israeli tech company. They developed a brick-recognition technology invented by Ronen Horovitz. LEGO described the concept as "fluid play"—you build with bricks, scan your creation with the Life of George app, play digitally, and then return to build more in the real world.
Construction sets
There were two LEGO sets in the Life of George line:
- 21200 Life of George (Life of George 1)
- 21201 Life of George 2
Both sets included 144 LEGO bricks, a play mat, a Getting Started guide, a George sticker, and an accompanying app. The line was available from October 2011 to December 2013.
