Rauwerderhem

Rauwerderhem was a former municipality in Friesland, Netherlands. It existed from 1812 until 1984. The main town was Rauwerd. It covered about 34.7 square kilometers in total, with around 33.4 km2 of land and 1.3 km2 of water. About 2,541 people lived there in 1974. In 1984 Rauwerderhem merged into Boarnsterhim, and the area is now part of Boarnsterhim (with Irnsum noted as a city in the area).
