Vísir was an Icelandic daily newspaper. It was founded in December 1910 by Einar Gunnarsson and was published in Reykjavík, Iceland, in Icelandic. In 1967 Jónas Kristjánsson became its editor, but he left in 1975 after a clash with the owners over editorial policy and started Dagblaðið. On 26 November 1981, Vísir merged with Dagblaðið to form Dagblaðið Vísir, ending Vísir as a separate newspaper. The paper’s ISSN was 1670-0872.
