Mette Barlie
Mette Barlie (born 1964) is a Norwegian sport wrestler who represented Kolbotn IL. She won silver medals at the World Wrestling Championships in 1995 (Moscow, 44 kg) and 1997 (Clermont-Ferrand, 46 kg). She also earned three medals at the European Championships in 1996, 1997 and 1998. At the Norwegian national championships, she won the Kongepokal (King’s Cup) twice, in 1997 and 1999—the award goes to the best overall female (and male) wrestler at the national championships. Barlie is recognized as a world championship medalist and a prominent figure in Norwegian women's wrestling.
