Pacific Mercantile Bancorp was a Costa Mesa, California–based bank holding company that owned Pacific Mercantile Bank. It traded publicly on Nasdaq under the symbol PMBC. The company opened its first branch in March 1999, followed by a La Habra branch in September 2003 and a Long Beach branch in October 2004. It went public in 2000 through an initial public offering and exited the wholesale mortgage banking business in 2005. In 2013, founding chairman and CEO Raymond E. Dellerba retired and Steven K. Buster became his successor. Pacific Mercantile Bancorp joined the Russell 3000 Index in 2016. In October 2021, Banc of California acquired Pacific Mercantile Bancorp and it was delisted from Nasdaq.
