Marcellon is a town in Columbia County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,024 at the 2000 census. The unincorporated community of Belle Fountain is located in the town.

Geography
Marcellon covers a total area of 35.8 square miles (92.7 square kilometers). Of this, 35.5 square miles (91.9 km2) is land and 0.3 square mile (0.7 km2) is water, about 0.78% water.

Demographics
As of the 2000 census, there were 1,024 people, 362 households, and 287 families living in Marcellon. The population density was 28.8 people per square mile (11.1/km2). There were 380 housing units at an average density of 10.7 per square mile (4.1/km2).

The racial makeup was 98.93% White, 0.10% Asian, 0.10% Pacific Islander, 0.20% from other races, and 0.68% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.59%.

Households
32.3% had children under 18. 72.4% were married couples living together. 2.5% had a female householder with no husband present. 20.7% were non-families. 15.7% of households were individuals, and 6.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.83 and the average family size was 3.16.

Age
The population was spread out: 27.1% under the age of 18, 7.1% from 18 to 24, 26.8% from 25 to 44, 29.4% from 45 to 64, and 9.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females, there were 107.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 101.6 males.

Income
The median household income was $48,333 and the median family income was $50,625. Males had a median income of $31,759 versus $24,760 for females. The per capita income for the town was $19,488. About 6.7% of families and 8.2% of the population were below the poverty line, including 9.9% of those under age 18 and 13.5% of those age 65 or over.
