Rangkaian Ketiga
Rangkaian Ketiga, or Network Three, was a Malaysian television channel that served Sabah and Sarawak from Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. It began in 1971 as Televisyen Sabah, a Sabah government station, with early plans to bring television to the state dating back to the 1960s. In 1975, the Sabah government sold the station to Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM), which expanded its coverage to include Sarawak. The network broadcast in Malay and featured a mix of local Sabah and Sarawak programs alongside imported shows. Colour broadcasting started in 1980.
In 1983, RTM2 (TV2) began nationwide broadcasts, and from 1984 Sabah programming was reduced as Network Three was used to rebroadcast TV2. The channel officially closed in 1985, with TV2 taking over its Sabah and Sarawak transmission. Since the closure, Sabah’s television output mainly rebroadcast national RTM programming, while other regional services continued to develop. Rangkaian Ketiga was owned by RTM, with its headquarters in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, and it operated in the Malay language.
