Anveshane (1983) is a Kannada drama directed by T. S. Nagabharana, written by Girish Karnad and Nagabharana. Starring Anant Nag, Smita Patil, and Girish Karnad, it follows a middle‑class couple whose ordinary life in a crowded housing complex turns into a puzzling mystery. The film runs 108 minutes and was produced by Raja and Sarojamma. It’s scored by Vijaya Bhaskar and released in India.

Plot
In the 1980s, Shyam and Revati live with their two daughters in a Vatara, a group of homes shared by families. Shyam works at a travel agency and Revati is a school teacher. A nosy neighbor named Ajja keeps watch over everything. One day, the couple returns home to find a dead man lying in their living room. They try to hide him and figure out what happened, while drunks and police keep turning up and hindering their efforts. As the story unfolds, clues about the dead man, Shekhar, and his connections lead to the truth behind the mysterious death.
