San Lucio Pass
San Lucio Pass, or Passo San Lucio, is a mountain pass in the Lugano Prealps that sits on the border between Italy and Switzerland. It is 1,541 metres (5,056 feet) above sea level and connects Val Cavargna in Italy with Val Colla in the Swiss canton of Ticino. The pass is shared by the Italian municipality of Cavargna and the Swiss municipality of Bogno.
From the Italian side you can drive up to the pass, while from the Swiss side it is reached by a dirt track.
At the summit is a 14th‑century church dedicated to Saint Lucio (also known as Saint Uguzo), the patron saint of alpine dairymen, and a pair of refuges for hikers. The feast day for Saint Lucio is celebrated on July 12 and August 16, drawing visitors from both sides of the border.
Location: coordinates 46.0872° N, 9.0897° E. The pass is in the Lugano Prealps, near the border between Lombardy (Italy) and Ticino (Switzerland).
