Juan Carlos Ferreyra
Juan Carlos Ferreyra, nicknamed “el Tanque,” is an Argentine footballer who plays as a striker. He was born on September 12, 1983, in San Rafael, Mendoza, Argentina, and stands 1.91 meters tall. Ferreyra began his career in Argentina’s lower leagues with teams such as Independiente Rivadavia, Yupanqui, and Almirante Brown, before moving to Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata.
He later played abroad for Deportivo Cali in Colombia and Deportivo Cuenca in Ecuador, as well as for Newell’s Old Boys, All Boys, Barcelona SC, Botafogo, and Unión Española. He also spent time with Olimpia in Paraguay, and had a stint with O’Higgins in Chile on loan. In 2010 he joined Olimpia and helped the team reach the Libertadores final in 2013. In 2014 he signed with Botafogo in Brazil.
Ferreyra has also played for Club Social y Deportivo Rincón del Ariel in Argentina. His nickname, “the Tank,” comes from his imposing height and physical presence on the field.
