Marasmiaceae

The Marasmiaceae are a family of fungi in the order Agaricales. Their fruit bodies are usually gilled mushrooms (agarics), but some members have different forms in the genus Cellypha.

How many genera and species
- In 2008, the family was thought to include about 54 genera and 1,590 species.
- Molecular studies later narrowed this to about 13 genera and 1,205 species.
- By 2020, the group was further reduced to about 10 genera and around 700 species.
