Golf & Mike: Thai pop duo
Golf Pichaya Nitipaisalkul and Mike Pirat Nitipaisalkul were two brothers from Bangkok who formed the Thai pop duo Golf & Mike (also known as Golf-Mike) under the big Thai label GMM Grammy. They burst onto the scene in 2005 with their self‑titled debut album and quickly became one of Thailand’s popular young acts.
What they did
- Debut and rise: In 2005 they released Golf & Mike, highlighted by the hit single Bounce. Their first big year earned them awards and a growing fan base in Thailand.
- International ventures: In 2006 they joined Johnny’s Entertainment’s first international unit, Kitty GYM, alongside famous Japanese stars. They also joined G-Junior activities and performed in concerts across Asia.
- Japanese and Korean forays: 2007 saw their Japanese debut with Nippon Ai Ni Ikuyo and the album Rin (in Japan and Korea). They performed at the Asia Song Festival in Korea and released Korea editions of their work.
- Get Ready era: In 2008 they released GET R3ADY, with collaborations and songs written by Golf and Mike themselves.
- National tours and China/Malaysia markets: In 2009 they did a major national tour in Thailand and promoted music in Malaysia and China. They even performed in Tokyo with Ice Saranyu.
- 2010s and solo careers: The duo planned new projects and big surprises, including a dance-focused phase in the U.S., but they eventually disbanded. In 2011 both pursued solo music: Golf released a solo single, and Mike released AYO.
