Ganodermataceae

Ganodermataceae are a family of fungi in the order Polyporales. As of 2018, Index Fungorum lists about 300 species in eight genera within the family. The group was defined by Dutch mycologist Marinus Anton Donk in 1948 to include polypores with a distinctive double-walled spore wall: the inner wall is thickened and often ornamented or verruculose, while the outer wall is thin and hyaline.

The type genus is Ganoderma, described by P. Karsten in 1881, which includes species such as Ganoderma lucidum.

Genera in Ganodermataceae include Amauroderma, Elfvingia, Ganoderma, Ganodermites (extinct), Haddowia, Humphreya, Poliporopsis, Tomophagus, and Trachyderma.

Taxonomy: Kingdom Fungi; Division Basidiomycota; Class Agaricomycetes; Order Polyporales; Family Ganodermataceae.
