Fairholme is a Tudor Revival mansion in Newport, Rhode Island, located at 237 Ruggles Avenue. Built in 1874–75 for Fairman Rogers and designed by Frank Furness, it sits on about 4.3 acres with 425 feet of ocean frontage on Ochre Point. The house was remodeled in 1896 by Peabody & Stearns for John R. Drexel, and Horace Trumbauer later added a ballroom. Over the years the estate changed hands several times, including Alfonso P. Villa (1930) and Robert R. Young (1942); more recently, Doug Manchester bought it in 2015 and sold it in 2016 for $16.1 million. It remains privately owned as of 2025. The property’s stables, once the gardener’s cottage, were bought by Salve Regina University in 1991 and turned into a residence hall called Jean and David W. Wallace Hall.
