Paul John Brown (born 10 March 1969) is an Australian politician from Western Australia. A member of the National Party, he served as a member of the Western Australian Legislative Council for the Agricultural Region from 2013 to 2017. He resigned in February 2017 to contest the seat of Geraldton in the Legislative Assembly at the 2017 state election.

Early life: Brown was born in Geraldton, Western Australia, and grew up in Dongara and Exmouth. After his parents’ marriage ended, his family moved to Merredin and then settled in Perth. He attended Churchlands Senior High School and Scarborough Senior High School. He studied horticulture at TAFE, worked as a nursery manager, and ran his own landscaping business. He later studied feedlot management and worked as a stock inspector for the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service, before working in the live export industry.

Politics: He entered Parliament at the 2013 state election, representing the Agricultural Region for the National Party. He was initially placed on the ticket’s fourth position but was moved to second after two candidates quit to stand as independents. His term ran from May 2013 to February 2017. In March 2016, he announced plans to seek preselection for the Geraldton seat in the Legislative Assembly for the 2017 election. He was successful in securing preselection and resigned in February 2017 to meet nomination requirements. The Geraldton seat was previously held by Ian Blayney of the Liberal Party.
