Anemone berlandieri, commonly known as tenpetal thimbleweed or tenpetal anemone, is a rhizomatous perennial flowering plant in the buttercup family Ranunculaceae. It is native to much of the Southern United States, from Texas to Florida, and its range extends north to Kansas and south to northeast Mexico, with a separate population in the southern Appalachian Mountains. The plant flowers in late winter to spring, usually from February through April. The name berlandieri honors 19th‑century botanist Jean-Louis Berlandier, who explored Texas and Mexico. Anemone berlandieri grows in sunny open habitats such as prairies and hillsides, and also in wooded areas on thin shale soils. It is listed as Apparently Secure by NatureServe. Synonyms include Anemone caroliniana, Anemone decapetala var. heterophylla, and Anemone heterophylla.
