Volleyball at the 1996 Summer Olympics

The 1996 Atlanta Games included four volleyball events: men's indoor, women's indoor, men's beach, and women's beach. Beach volleyball was officially added to the Olympics for the first time.

Venues and dates: Indoor matches were held at the University of Georgia Coliseum and the Omni Coliseum; beach volleyball took place at Clayton County International Park. The events ran from July 20 to August 4, 1996.

Participants: 372 athletes from 13 nations competed.

Medal highlights: In indoor volleyball, the Netherlands won the men's gold, Italy the silver, and FR Yugoslavia the bronze; in women's indoor, Cuba won gold, China silver, and Brazil bronze. In beach volleyball, medals were awarded to teams from several countries, including the United States, Brazil, Canada, and Australia.
