Unity Town Hall

Unity Town Hall is the town hall for Unity, New Hampshire. It sits in the village center along the 2nd New Hampshire Turnpike, just north of Center Road.

Description and history
- Built in 1831 as a Baptist church for a congregation organized in 1794.
- A well-preserved example of transitional Federal-Greek Revival style.
- One-story wooden building with a gabled roof and clapboard siding.
- Features include a projecting entry pavilion, a two-stage tower with an open belfry, and entrances topped with Federal-style fanlights. The pavilion has a half-eye window in its gable.
- The tower’s first stage has louvers with fanlight tops; it is crowned by a balustrade with urned posts. The belfry has arched openings and is topped by a cupola and weather vane.
- The Baptist church was sold to the town in 1877 and has served as Unity’s town hall ever since.

National Register of Historic Places
- Unity Town Hall was listed in 1985 (NRHP ref. no. 85001199) for its historical and architectural significance.
- The building shows influence from Elias Carter, a regional builder of churches.
