Tumwater High School (THS) is a public high school in Tumwater, Washington. It serves grades 9–12 and is part of the Tumwater School District. The school opened in 1961 and is located at 700 Israel Road SE, Tumwater, WA 98501.
About THS
- It mainly serves students from eastern Tumwater and the Littlerock area west of Interstate 5. The campus is suburban. The principal is Zach Suderman. In the 2023–2024 school year, enrollment was about 1,139 students, with a student-teacher ratio of roughly 22.6 to 1.
Athletics
- THS competes in the 2A division of the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA).
- Sports include cross country, golf, football, soccer, dance, swimming and diving, tennis, volleyball, basketball, bowling, wrestling, baseball, fastpitch softball, and track and field.
- The school also has a nationally successful club rifle team and a national-champion dance team.
Achievements
- THS has won 13 state championships across several sports: football (1987, 1989, 1990, 1993, 2010, 2019), girls volleyball (2008, 2014, 2016), girls fastpitch softball (1993, 2006, 2022), girls track and field (2023), and boys baseball (2022, 2023).
Theatre
- Tumwater Acting Company has a long history of success with many productions. The current director is Harrison Fry.
