Poręba is a town in southern Poland. It is in Silesian Voivodeship, Zawiercie County, and forms an urban municipality.

It covers about 40 square kilometers and has around 8,525 residents (2019). About half of the area is forest. The town has a railway line that runs from Miasteczko Śląskie to Zawiercie.

History highlights:
- First mentioned in 1375 as Black Poręba near a lake.
- In the 16th century it grew as a center for early steel and iron industry.
- Over the years it belonged to different states: Poland, Prussia after the partitions, briefly the Duchy of Warsaw, and then Congress Poland.
- In 1918 it returned to Poland.
- In the 1950s a local metal plant helped its economy; a vocational school opened in 1946.
- In 2008, Triassic turtle remains were discovered in the area.

Local culture and food:
- Prażonki (a regional dish) and protected foods like kiełbasa porębska (Poręba sausage) and szynka wieprzowa parzona porębska (steamed ham) are traditional for Poręba.

Sports:
- The town has a football club, MKS Poręba.
