Szalafő is a small village in Vas County, in western Hungary. It lies near the borders with Austria and Slovenia and close to the source of the Zala River, which is in the hills to the northwest of the village. Szalafő is in the Western Transdanubia region, within the Őriszentpéteri subregion, and covers about 27 square kilometers. In Slovene, Szalafő is known as Sola or Glava Zale. The postal code is 9942 and the area code is +36 94. The village has a website at szalafo.hu.
