Old Mill station
Old Mill station is a subway stop on Toronto’s Line 2 Bloor–Danforth. It sits at 2672 Bloor Street West, at Old Mill Terrace and Humber Boulevard, in the Kingsway neighborhood of Toronto. The station has two side platforms and two tracks. The west end of the line at Old Mill goes underground toward Royal York, while the east end is on a viaduct that crosses the Humber River valley before going back into a tunnel toward Jane station. Windows at the east end look out over the riverside park and feature bird-shaped cutouts to reduce bird deaths.
History and openings
- Old Mill opened on May 10, 1968.
- On December 8, 2000, a fire damaged the station after a waste train incident. It was likely caused by a cigarette in a trash can at another station. This led the TTC to change its waste handling procedures, so garbage is collected outside stations by truck.
Accessibility plans
- As of now, the station is not accessible.
- In 2024, the TTC announced upgrades including two elevators from ground level to the two side platforms, tactile tiles, better signage, and CCTV cameras along a new accessible path. Construction was planned to start in 2025 and finish around 2028, making Old Mill the last Toronto subway station to become accessible.
