Jimmy Woods (American football)
Jimmy Woods, whose full name is James John Woods, was an American football player in the early NFL. He was born May 5, 1894, in Jamestown, New York (some sources list 1896 as his birth year). He stood 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighed about 196 pounds. Woods played as a center, tackle, and guard.
He spent his NFL career with the Rochester Jeffersons from 1920 to 1924, appearing in about 22 games. Before football, he worked as an electrical welder. After retiring from football, he lived in Salamanca, New York, and worked for Prudential Insurance Co.
Woods passed away on December 3, 1966, in Salamanca, New York (some sources list a different death date). The details of his birth year and death date are sometimes given differently in various sources.
