Homosassa Springs, Florida is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Citrus County, United States. The population was 14,283 at the 2020 census, up from 13,791 in 2010. It is the main community of the Homosassa Springs metropolitan area. The name comes from a warm spring in Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park that nearby manatees visit.

Geography
Homosassa Springs sits in southern Citrus County. It’s at about 28.8072°N, 82.5500°W and lies east of U.S. Routes 19 and 98 (Suncoast Boulevard). The nearby communities are Crystal River to the northwest, Lecanto to the east, and Sugarmill Woods to the south. The CDP covers about 25.1 square miles, with a tiny amount of water. Elevation is around 6.6 feet. ZIP code 34447 and area code 352. The place is identified by the US Geological Survey as GNIS feature ID 0284223.

Climate
Homosassa Springs has a warm, humid climate. Summers are hot and winters are mild. Record highs are generally in the upper 80s to mid-90s Fahrenheit. Mean highs range through the 70s to 90s, and mean lows are from the 40s to the 70s. The area gets about 52 inches of rain each year.

Demographics
As of 2020, Homosassa Springs had about 14,283 people in 5,946 households. Age distribution shows 5.7% under 5 years old, 17.6% under 18, 50.4% between 18 and 65, and 26.3% 65 or older. About 51.1% of residents are female. Foreign-born residents make up about 2.8%. There are roughly 1,594 veterans.

Racial makeup is predominantly White (about 95.1%), with small numbers of Black, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian, and two or more races. About 3.5% identify as Hispanic or Latino.
