Frank Musker
Frank John Musker (born 1951) is a British songwriter and composer. He was most active in the 1980s and 1990s, writing songs for artists such as Sheena Easton, The Babys, Jennifer Rush, Bucks Fizz, Air Supply, Lisa Stansfield, Zucchero, Lucio Battisti, and Brian May of Queen (for the song "Too Much Love Will Kill You"). The collaboration with May won the Ivor Novello Award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically in 1997.
One of Musker's early successes was "Heaven on the 7th Floor" (1977), written with Dominic Bugatti, which became a hit for Paul Nicholas and The Mighty Pope. Musker and Bugatti also worked with John Waite to write "Back on My Feet Again", which became The Babys' last Top 40 hit in 1980. In the early 1980s, Musker and Bugatti released music as The Dukes, an album produced by Arif Mardin and recorded in studios in Hollywood, New York, and London.
In 1984, Musker released a solo song, "Steely Man", which was used in the film Grandview, U.S.A. In 1998, he served as a director at the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors (BASCA).
