Diocese of Artik
Diocese of Artik (Armenian: Արթիկի թեմ) is a diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Armenia. It covers the southern part of Shirak Province, including the towns of Artik and Maralik and nearby villages.
The diocese was established on December 2, 2012, when it was separated from the Diocese of Shirak by a decree from Catholicos Karekin II.
Its official seat is the Saint Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral in Artik, a 7th‑century church that is currently being rebuilt. The prelacy operates from the nearby Varagatun religious complex, consecrated in 2012.
Leadership: the church’s head is Patriarch Karekin II, and the primate of Artik is Archimandrite Narek Avagyan.
