3rd British Academy Games Awards
The 3rd British Academy Games Awards were held on 5 October 2006 at The Roundhouse in London. The ceremony celebrated achievements in 2006 video games and was hosted by Vernon Kay. It was sponsored by N-Gage.
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter was the night’s big winner, taking Best Game and two awards in total. It was joined by LocoRoco and Shadow of the Colossus as two-award winners as well.
The show highlighted a strong slate of nominees, led by Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter and LocoRoco with eight nominations each. Other titles receiving many nominations included We Love Katamari (six), and Guitar Hero, Shadow of the Colossus, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and Tomb Raider: Legend (five each).
