Abilkhan Kasteev (Kazakh: Әбілхан Қастеев, Äbılhan Qasteev) (January 14, 1904 – November 2, 1973) was a Soviet and Kazakhstani painter. He is remembered as one of Kazakhstan’s most important 20th-century artists.

- Early life and training: He was born in a small village in the Taldykorgan Region and studied at the Nadezhda Krupskaya art studio in Almaty.
- Work: Kasteev painted more than 1,000 works, in oil and watercolors.
- Honors: He was named National Artist of the Kazakh SSR, received the Shoqan Walikhanov State Prize, and was awarded the Order of the October Revolution and two Orders of the Red Banner of Labour.
- Museums: His paintings are housed in major museums, including the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, the State Museum of East Nations Art, the Central Museum of the USSR Revolution by Lenin Order, and the State Museum of Fine Arts of Kazakhstan (which was named after him), among others in the country.
- Legacy: He is regarded as a leading Kazakh painter of the 20th century.
