Timeless Records
Timeless Records is a Dutch jazz record label based in Wageningen, Netherlands. It was founded in 1975 by Wim Wigt. The label mostly released bebop and other jazz styles, but it also put out some Dixieland and swing records. By 2000, Timeless had issued around 600 albums and operated two sub-labels: World Wide Jazz and Limetree Records.
In the late 1970s, Timeless partnered with Muse Records to distribute Timeless Muse.
The label sponsored the Timeless All Stars, a six-member jazz ensemble started in 1981 by Wim Wigt. Early members included Harold Land, Curtis Fuller, Bobby Hutcherson, Cedar Walton, Buster Williams, and Billy Higgins.
Notable releases include Dizzy Gillespie Meets Phil Woods Quintet, McCoy Tyner’s Bon Voyage, Lou Donaldson’s Forgotten Man, and albums by the George Adams–Don Pullen Quartet, among others.
Timeless Historical is a sub-label focused on early jazz. It began in 1991 under the executive production of Chris Barber and Wim Wigt, starting with Sharkey Bonano’s early recordings. By one account, it had released 86 discs.
The Timeless catalog is extensive, spanning many decades and featuring hundreds of titles by renowned jazz artists. Timeless Records is a member of the IFPI.
