Sulitjelma Glacier is a large valley glacier in Scandinavia. It is mostly in Norway, in Nordland county’s Fauske Municipality, but its eastern part crosses into Sweden near the borders of Arjeplog and Jokkmokk in Norrbotten County. When you look at the whole glacier, it is the largest glacier in Sweden.

The glacier covers about 24 square kilometers and is about 300 meters thick. Its highest point is around 1,680 meters above sea level, and its lowest point is about 830 meters. The lake Låmivatnet lies just south of the glacier.

Its coordinates are roughly 67.1362°N, 16.3423°E. The Sulitjelma Glacier has retreated in recent years. Stockholm University runs an automatic weather station near the glacier’s front.

Names: in Norwegian it’s called Sulitjelmaisen; in Lule Sami it’s Sállajiegŋa; in Swedish it’s Salajekna.
