Slovenské pohľady (Slovak Views) is a Slovak literary magazine. It began in 1846 and had issues in 1847, 1851 and 1852. It was Slovakia’s first literary magazine. Its founder, publisher and editor in chief was Jozef Miloslav Hurban. The magazine helped popularize social sciences and the arts. It stopped because of strict new press laws during the Bach government. It was restarted in 1881 and has been published continuously since then, through the communist era to the present.
