R&B Showcase (magazine)
R&B Showcase is a quarterly music magazine from Willingboro, New Jersey. It was founded in 2003 by Tim Marshall, who remains the editor-in-chief. The magazine focuses on R&B and related genres, covering pioneer, independent, and national recording acts. Each issue includes in-depth interviews with musicians, producers, promoters, authors, and educators, along with music news and reviews of CDs, DVDs, and live shows. The publication covers classic to contemporary rock, pop, soul, and jazz music and culture.
History: The magazine began in 2003 as Rhythm & Blues Showcase News Magazine. To reflect its broader topics, the name was changed to R&B Showcase. The first issue appeared on August 23, 2003, at a promotional event in Atlantic City with LMNT from MTV’s Making the Band; the cover featured LMNT and Motown legend Richard Street of The Temptations. The magazine aims to preserve R&B history and culture while giving exposure to new and independent artists.
