Marli
Marli is a Finnish fruit juice company based in Turku. It is owned by the German Eckes-Granini Group and makes more than 150 products, including Juissi, Marli orange juice, Mehukatti, Trip, Tropic, and the Marli brand itself. The company has about 130 employees, with over 150 working in the summertime. Its turnover is around 58 million euros.
History in simple terms:
- 1867: A wine and liqueur factory is founded in Turku by Anders Nordfors.
- 1919: Prohibition starts, and the factory begins making juices and other non-alcoholic drinks.
- 1954: Huhtamäki buys the factory and merges it with the Marli Berry Wine and Liqueur Factory.
- 1992: Huhtamäki sells Marli to Oy Rettig Ab.
- 1999: Marli merges with Chymos Juomat Oy.
- 2000: Marli splits into Oy Marli Ab (juices) and an alcohol business.
- 2001: Rettig sells Marli to Eckes-Granini.
- 2002: The alcohol business is sold to V&S Vin & Sprit AB (later Pernod Ricard Finland Oy).
- Since then, Marli operates mainly as a juice brand under Eckes-Granini, with its headquarters in Turku.
