League of Secessionist States (LoSS)
What it is
- A dormant, internet-based intermicronational organization created to promote communication and partnership between micronations and to act as a neutral supramicronational body when needed. It has mostly online activity.
History
- Founded on November 26, 1980 by Robert B. Madison, who was the self-proclaimed king of the Kingdom of Talossa.

- Became inactive in 1983.
- Reestablished in April 1996 during a wave of internet interest in micronations and admitted four member states.
- Between 1997 and at least 2000, it was the most prominent intermicronational organization on the internet.
Growth and influence
- By January 2005, the LoSS claimed more than 30 member states and was described as “sort of a United Nations for imaginary countries.”
- On August 25, 2007, the League of Micronations merged into the LoSS.
- By 2011, the LoSS claimed about 40 member states.
