Cristian Brocchi
Cristian Brocchi is an Italian former professional footballer and current coach, known for playing as a defensive midfielder and later moving into management.
Playing career in brief
- Brocchi began his career with AC Milan, then spent time on loan at Pro Sesto and Lumezzane. He later played for Hellas Verona, Inter Milan, returned to AC Milan, and also had spells with Fiorentina and Lazio.
- He was part of Milan during a very successful period, winning Serie A in 2003-04, the UEFA Champions League in 2002-03 and 2006-07, the UEFA Super Cup in 2007, and the FIFA Club World Cup in 2007. He also earned a Coppa Italia winner’s medal with Milan in 2002-03.
- At Lazio, he won the Coppa Italia in 2008-09 and 2012-13, and the Supercoppa Italiana in 2009.
- Internationally, Brocchi made one appearance for Italy in 2006, in a friendly against Turkey.
Managerial career
- Brocchi began his senior managerial career at AC Milan, taking charge in 2016 after coaching Milan’s youth team. He lasted a short time at Milan before moving to Brescia in Serie B.
- He later worked as an assistant coach at Jiangsu Suning in China.
- In 2018 he became head coach of Monza in Serie C, helping the club win promotion to the league above. He stayed with Monza through the 2020-21 season before leaving.
- He then took charge of Vicenza in 2021 but was dismissed in 2022.
- In November 2024, Brocchi was named head coach of FC Zeta Milano in the Kings League.
Personal life
- Outside football, Brocchi opened a cafe in Milan with former teammate Christian Abbiati and started a clothing brand, Baci & Abbracci, with friend and footballer Christian Vieri and model Alena Šeredová.
