Jurca Spit
The Jurca MJ-10 Spitfire is a French-made, homebuilt replica of the Supermarine Spitfire. It was designed by Marcel Jurca and is sold in two sizes: MJ-10, about three-quarters scale, and MJ-100, full scale. The aircraft is mainly built from wood, though the MJ-100 can be built with a welded steel-tube fuselage if desired. It can be finished as a single-seater or with two seats in tandem. Builders typically aim to represent the Mk IX Spitfire, but versions of other Spitfire marks (such as Mk Vc or Mk XIV) can be depicted with adjustments.
The MJ-10 and MJ-100 were marketed by Falconar and later by Jurca Plans West. As of July 2017, two MJ-100s had flown: one in France (prototype F-WGML) started with a Hispano-Suiza engine and was later refitted with an Allison V-1710, and one in the USA using an Allison V-1710. Several other MJ-100s were under construction around the world.
