Jesse Were
Jesse Jackson Were, born 19 April 1989 in Nairobi, Kenya, is a Kenyan professional footballer who plays as a striker. He is about 1.86 meters tall and currently plays for Zesco United in Zambia, while also representing the Kenya national team.
Were began his senior career in Kenya with Mathare United (2011–2012), then moved to Tusker (2013–2015). He later joined ZESCO United in Zambia (2016–2022), then Kansanshi Dynamos FC (2022–2024), and returned to Zesco United in 2024. For Kenya’s national team, he has earned caps since 2013 and has scored 1 goal.
Club career highlights include 49 appearances and 13 goals for Mathare United, 86 appearances and 46 goals for Tusker, 83 appearances and 57 goals for ZESCO United in his first spell, and 30 appearances with 7 goals for Kansanshi Dynamos. He wears the number 18 at Zesco United.
