Broughton Gifford Halt railway station
Broughton Gifford Halt railway station was a small, now-closed railway stop in Wiltshire, England, serving the village of Broughton Gifford. It opened on 29 October 1905 to serve a new steam railcar service between Chippenham and Trowbridge. The station was located southeast of the village, near the Mill Lane Bridge on the road between Melksham and Bradford-on-Avon, and it had two platforms. It was built and run by the Great Western Railway. Passenger services ended on 7 February 1955, and the station closed, though the railway line itself remains open. A photo from 2011 shows the site of the station.
