RB Leipzig (women)
RB Leipzig Women are a German football team from Leipzig, Saxony. They play in the Frauen-Bundesliga, the top division for women in Germany. Their second team competes in Regionalliga Nordost.
History in short
- The club started in 2016. At first there was talk of partnering with Leipziger FC 07, but RB Leipzig ended up running the team on its own.
- They began in the Landesliga Sachsen (fourth level) in 2016-17 and quickly moved up.
- They won the Regionalliga Nordost in 2019-20 and moved up to the second division (2. Frauen-Bundesliga).
- In 2022-23 they again won their league and earned promotion to the Bundesliga, finishing the season strong with a big win over Eintracht Frankfurt II.
- In 2023-24 they played in the Frauen-Bundesliga and finished 8th. In 2024-25 they were again 8th in the top division.
Stadium
- Home games are at Sportanlage Gontardweg in Leipzig. This ground is part of the Saxony training center for women’s football and has been used by RB Leipzig since 2016.

- The squad is made up of players from several countries, including Germany, Austria, Norway, Iceland, Ghana, Denmark and more.
- The captain is Victoria Krug. Vanessa Fudalla has been a key goalscorer in several seasons.
- The goalkeeper Elvira Herzog (Switzerland) is among the many internationals in the squad.
