2023 UCI Road World Championships
The 2023 UCI Road World Championships were held from August 5 to August 13 in Scotland, as part of the first-ever UCI Cycling World Championships. It was the 96th edition of the world championships in road cycling. A total of 13 events were contested: six road races (mostly in Glasgow city center), six individual time trials (centered around Stirling), and a mixed team relay (also in Glasgow).
Routes and venues
- Road races: All six road races used a 14.3-kilometer finishing circuit in Glasgow. The men’s elite road race started in Holyrood Park, Edinburgh, then headed toward Glasgow to finish with ten laps on the Glasgow circuit, including a climb on Crow Road. The women’s and under-23 road races followed the same finishing circuit. The junior road races also used the same Glasgow circuit.
- Time trials: All individual time trials were held around Stirling, finishing at Stirling Castle. Distances varied, from 23 kilometers for some junior events up to 48.1 kilometers for the men’s elite time trial.
- Mixed relay: The mixed team relay used a 40.3-kilometer circuit around Glasgow.
