William Flynn (American football)
William K. Flynn (c. 1896 – October 9, 1958) was an American football coach and administrator. A Taunton, Massachusetts native, he played fullback for the Holy Cross Crusaders and graduated in 1921.
He became Loyola University New Orleans’ athletic director and football coach from 1921 to 1923, starting the school's athletics program. His Loyola teams compiled an 11–8–2 record overall, including a 5–1–1 mark in 1923 after going 2–4 in 1921 and 4–3–1 in 1922.
In 1925, Flynn moved to Cheverus High School in Portland, Maine. In 1927, he became the supervisor of physical training and the head coach of football, baseball, and basketball at Asbury Park High School in New Jersey, where he won three state championships. From 1934 until his death, he was the head football coach at Morristown High School in Morristown, New Jersey.
Flynn died on October 9, 1958, at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, New Jersey.
