Amur Bay
Amur Bay is a large bay in the Peter the Great Gulf of the Sea of Japan, in Russia. It is about 65 kilometers long, 10 to 20 kilometers wide, and up to 20 meters deep. The bay is part of a bigger bay system formed with Ussuri Bay; they are connected by the Eastern Bosphorus and separated from Ussuri Bay by the Muravyov-Amursky Peninsula and the Eugénie Archipelago. Rivers that flow into Amur Bay include the Amba, Razdolnaya, Narva, and Barabashevka. Vladivostok, the largest city in the Russian Far East, lies along the bay’s eastern coast on the Muravyov-Amursky Peninsula and the Eugénie Archipelago. A bridge on the Amur Bay crosses the bay as part of the A-370 highway, linking De-Friz Peninsula with Vladivostok’s Sovetsky District. Amur Bay is a popular area for tourism and recreation, with sanatoriums, beach resorts, and summer camps.
