Alfred John Ellis, OC (May 27, 1915 – January 29, 2020) was a Canadian banker and corporate director. Born in Montreal, Quebec, he graduated from Lower Canada College in 1932 and later became vice-chairman and director of the Bank of Montreal. He received several honors, including being named an Officer of the Order of Canada in 1983, the Order of the Rising Sun from Japan in 1989, and the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012. Ellis lived to be 104, turning 100 in 2015, and died in Vancouver, British Columbia, in 2020.
