The 55th Hoogovens Wijk aan Zee Chess Tournament took place in Wijk aan Zee, Netherlands, in January 1993. This edition moved away from the traditional round-robin format and was decided as a knockout competition. Anatoly Karpov won the tournament, defeating Miguel Illescas in the final by 2.5 to 1.5. The event is part of the longer Tata Steel Chess Tournament tradition held at Wijk aan Zee.
